Relocating to Charlotte NC in 2021 from Long Island NY to semi-retire from a successful commercial construction career, we bought our home in Charlotte with the intent to do some remodeling of our own and to help others in need of home maintenance services. My experience however to find willing trades to hire was proving to be a real challenge. Following countless failed attempts to hire the contractors either due to them not showing up at the appointment, failing to provide an estimate, crazy pricing and payment terms, or quotes that did not correctly address the work requested, I elected to find workers rather than companies to hire for my needs. Starting out small and doing handyman type repairs for others quickly evolved into larger jobs. In the process I discovered the most kind and trusting people of the Charlotte vicinity to be working for in helping them with their remodeling needs. Fast forward to spring of 2024..., building upon these past successes, customer inquiries quickly developed into requests for larger and more involved remodeling projects.
My experience span 3 decades of professional construction services as an owner operator of a Long Island based home improvement company, as Superintendent and Project Manager for a general contractor building for some of the largest nationally recognized companies, and as Estimator and Department Head for commercial builders as my career advanced. The projects i have worked include hi-end residential construction, renovating & remodeling interiors, along with ground-up projects for many large retailers and other nationally recognized chains. Now days, my focus is to continue to provide my customers with high quality work and the professional services they expect for their home remodeling needs. I believe my work experiences as both a tradesman and construction manager working directly with clients provides me the tools and insight into what folks are truly looking for when hiring someone to work in their home.
